Obituary

Rev. Ronald Morton age 78, went home to see his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Monday December 24, 2018. Ronald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, pastor, and dear friend. Ronald was known for his faith in Jesus. He had a tireless dedication and an unexplainable love for God, his ministry, his family, and to Lamplight Full Gospel Church, where he was the founder and pastor for over 45 years. Shortly after accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1970, Ronald began to evangelize, and he and his late wife, Elizabeth, began singing in a gospel quartet. Ronald also held a Sunday morning gospel radio program on WGAP radio. His foresight and vision would help build three church buildings in Maryville as the congregation grew. Only God knows how many revivals, funerals, weddings and baptisms he conducted throughout his ministry. He ordained numerous deacons, preachers, and pastors, and several churches were established by those who he ordained. Ronald left a legacy of faith and work in the ministry. He was a gentleman with great integrity. He had a genuine heart of service to God and the needs of people. He was a giver, always worrying about other people more than himself, regardless of his condition. He wanted everyone to know that"Somewhere in life, you're gonna need a friend like Jesus," and “Church, I sure do love you.” He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Blanche Elizabeth Morton, father JH Morton, mother Josie E. Morton; brothers Lewis, John, Jimmy, Jack, Roy, his twin brother Donald, and sister Gaydene Garrett. He is survived by three daughters, Marlene Rickman and husband Jack, Lisa Hicks, Rhonda Campbell and husband Kevin; one son, Rev. Billy Morton and wife Mandy; grandchildren Mary Beth Hartman and Joseph Hartman, Sydney and Kylee Jones, Kailan and Chad Brooks, Kendall, Brittany, Chelsea, Ashley, Jalen, and Sierra Hicks, Kristin and Adrian Womac and Christopher and Hannah Campbell, Analyn and Addyson Morton; great-grandchildren, Jaxson Hartman, Brittney, Lexi, and Charlee Brooks, and Savannah Womac. Brother, Hollis Morton, brother and sister in law, Terry and Brenda Morton. Sister, Dorothy Teeple, sisters and brothers in laws, Phyllis and John Fuller and Pat and Gerry Anders. Sisters in laws, Pat Morton and Kathy Morton; brother-in-law, Lee Garrett. The family will receive friends at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home on Friday, December 28th from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. with service to follow, officiated by Rev. Billy Morton. Family and friends will meet at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 29th to proceed to burial at 10:00 A.M. at Clarks Grove Cemetery.
