Anne Long Hand

Anne was born in Northern Georgia and grew up in Tennessee graduating from high school in Chattanooga and college from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. She met George Long at ETSU. They married and lived in Huntsville and Memphis before moving to Maryville which was George’s childhood home. They raised a loving daughter Ginny.

George passed away in 1994. Several years later, Anne met Ernest Hand through their involvement in a local singles group. They were married in 2004 and have lived happily together in Maryville enjoying travel and friends.

Anne taught school for over 30 years and served as President of United Methodist Women three times. She loved her “lunch bunch”, her bridge club and all of her Sunday School friends. She tried not to miss a Sunday at Church. She loved the church community and choir. She sang in her college and church choirs for many years. Some of her greatest joy came from her choir performances in foreign countries as well as Carnegie Hall.

Jesus said, “Do not be afraid for I am with you always.”

Daughter, Ginny Fahey and her husband Steve of Franklin, TN

Granddaughters, Miller Fahey of New York, NY and Molly Fahey of Franklin, TN

Stepdaughter, Allison Coppenger and her husband Mike of Maryville, TN

Step Grandson, Logan Hand of Charlotte, NC

A funeral service will be held in her honor March 10th at First United Methodist Church of Maryville at 3:00. Receiving friends at 2:00
