Burl Hatcher

Burl Hatcher of Louisville, age 86 passed away on May 11, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mae Hatcher; nephew, Randal Hatcher; brothers-in-law, Sonny Young and Dean Cate.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons and their wives, Jeff and Fay Hatcher, Tim and Donna Hatcher, Andy and Tiffany Hatcher, David Hatcher and his fiancée Tracy Cameron; daughter Missie and her husband Al Rhea; brother, A.J. and his wife Shirley Hatcher; sisters, Trula Young, Beulah Cate; nephew, Mark and his wife Bridget Young; grandchildren, April Martin who was always there for him and her husband Dustin, Richard Hatcher and wife Jenifer Watson, Valerie and husband Greg Wynn, Joey and wife Natalie Gugliotta, Brandon, Travis, Bryan, Jason, Katie, Cory and Neil Hatcher; Tony, Christopher and Nick Gugliotta; great grandchildren, Jeremy, Wyatt, and Launa Martin, Finn Hatcher, Destiny, Dashauna and Dashawn Wynn.

Burl, who worked beside his father drilling wells as a youth, was in the Air Force from 1955 to 1959. He went to welding school and always took great pride in his welding skills. He later started a construction company where he built many homes, roads and in later years installed fiber optic cables across the United States. He was a member of St. Mark’s Methodist Church in Louisville.

Burl worked hard, fought hard, and was always there when we needed him. Most of all he loved his family and was loved by them.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, May 15 at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral service that will follow at 7:00 PM. The burial will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Ballards Chapel Cemetery in Louisville.
