Carl Edwin Hickman

Carl Hickman of Maryville died suddenly on July 6, 2022. He was born September 9, 1936 in Bradley County, TN to the late Virgil and Lorene (Rollins) Hickman and raised in Blount County. Carl graduated from Everett High School and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee. He served in the U.S. Army, and had a long career teaching Vocational Agriculture.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elwanda Turner Hickman of Maryville, daughter Mary Ann (Dave) Klassen of Media, PA, sisters Linda Hickman and Virginia (Howard) Robinson, brother and sister-in-law Buddy and Ann Allen, all of Maryville, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 10 at Fairview United Methodist Church with receiving of friends to follow. In consideration of family with weakened immunity, attendees are asked to mask.
