Carol Ann Hamilton of Townsend, Tennessee died on Friday, February 18, 2022, in Maryville, Tennessee at Blount County Memorial Hospital. She was 68 years old.

Carol was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on June 11, 1953. She and her family were long time Maryville residents, where she attended Maryville High School. She was preceded in death by Charles Hamilton (husband), Albert Barilone (father) and Carolyn (Hancox) Barilone (mother), all of Maryville, Tennessee and Terry (Barilone) Powell of Gainesville, Florida and Lillian Klein (granddaughter) of Brookston, Indiana. Her sister Nancy (Barilone) Teagle of Edmund, Oklahoma, brother Charles Barilone of Maryville Tennessee, her children, Jennifer (Phelps) Prewitt of Lafayette, Indiana, Lisa (Phelps) Klein of Brookston, Indiana, Kevin Phelps of Elkhart, Indiana, her niece Amie (Barilone) England of Maryville, Tennessee and a nephew, Thomas Breeden of Townsend, Tennessee survive.

Carol retired from working as a popular server at Cooper's Restaurant in the Hilton at Knoxville Airport in 2016. She worked for four years in Lafayette, Indiana at Comfort Keepers while she lived up north with her daughter Jennifer. She loved being with her grandchildren, Mikayla Prewitt, Madeline Klein, John Prewitt IV, Katherine Klein, Lucinda Klein, Jaycie Garcia, Haley Phelps, and Carson Phelps during that time.

Carol moved back to Tennessee in September of 2021, back to the mountains she loved. Her kindness, humor, and love will always be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Following the cremation, there will be a small gathering of family in the Fall to remember and celebrate her life.
