Carole Watkins Sneed

Carole Watkins Sneed, beloved wife, devoted sister and friend to so many, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at her home. Carole was 63 and lived in Friendsville. She was a member of Middlesettlements United Methodist Church. Carole was a teacher and guidance counselor at Friendsville, William Blount and Heritage High Schools for 30 years. She touched many lives while here on earth. She was an active member of several local, state and national educational associations. After retirement in 1998 Carole’s positive spirit and radiant smile continued to be an inspiration to all who knew her. Preceded in death by her parents, Carson and Zelma Watkins; infant brother, Hayden Watkins. Survivors include: husband, Lowell E. Sneed; brother, Norman B. Watkins; sisters-in-law, Betty Ann Schimpf and husband George, Dorothy Sneed Avera and husband Thomas; nephews, Alexander S. Watkins and George S. Schimpf; niece, Jenny A. Schimpf. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Middlesettlements United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Black and Rev. Rex Rogers officiating. The interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
