Charles R. Ray- age 90 of Maryville, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 at Shannondale of Maryville. He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Veteran of World War II serving in the US. Army, Past Mason of the Vonore Masonic Lodge #658 since 1942, Knoxville Scottish Rite Temple, Past Patron of Vonore Order of the Eastern Star #383, retired from Alcoa with 43 years of service, and member of the Alcoa 25 Year Club. Preceded in death by parents, Charles J. and Irene Howard Ray; brother, Barney Ray. Survivors include wife, Ruth Huff Ray; sister-in-law, Emma Dean Huff of Maryville; nephews, Richard Ray of Knoxville and Tom Ray of Virginia; nieces, Charlotte Gutherie of Bristol, TN and Katie Jeffers of Knoxville; God daughter, Lea Anne Law of Maryville. Family and friends will meet 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Sherwood Memorial for Graveside service with Dr. Charlie Barnard officiating.
