Curtis Lowe

February 8, 1933 — August 21, 2011

Curtis Lowe, beloved husband, father and grandfather, age 78 of Maryville, passed away August 21, at his home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is a graduate of Central High School, Knoxville, and attended U.T. He served 4 years in the USAF, and retired in 1990 as Area Manager from TRW Customer Service Division after 28 years of service. He was an ordained deacon, and served faithfully in his church in Baton Rouge, LA for 15 years and most recently at Monte Vista Baptist Church, Maryville. Preceded in death by parents, Victor and Retta Lowe. He is survived by his wife of almost 52 years, Barbara Woody Lowe; daughter and son-in-law, Betty Ann and Todd Morris and two grandchildren, Garrett and Jordan Morris of Baton Rouge; sisters, Mildred Selvidge and husband, Bud of Branson, MO, Imogene Patrick and husband, Arville of Knoxville; brother, Victor Lowe and wife, Betty of Knoxville; brother-in-law, Lacy Woody of Louisville, TN; sister-in-law and husband, Betty and Jewel Endsley, Friendsville, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express gratitude to Drs. Keith Gray, Wahid Hanna and Anasthasia Balius and the staff of U. T. Cancer Center, Knoxville, and to hospice nurse Angela Grabinow, CNA Frances Williams for their excellent care. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 23, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mantooth, Rev. Bob Dalton and Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service. Pallbearers are: Garrett Morris, Arville Patrick, Vince Selvidge, Don Woody, Randy Woody, Terry Lund. Honorary Pallbearers are: Todd Morris, Jim Morris, Clay Morris, Mack Brown, Lacy Woody, Jewel Endsley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund, Monte Vista Baptist Church, 1735 Old Niles Ferry, Maryville, TN 37803 or to the UT Cancer Center, 1934 Alcoa Highway, Knoxville, TN 37920.
