Diana J. Rubright, age 65, of Maryville, TN passed from this Earth in her home in Maryville and joined her Lord Jesus Christ in His glory on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Diana, a loving Mother, Grandmother (Nana), relative and friend to many was born on October 9, 1951 in Hammond, Indiana where she graduated from Hammond High School, then attended Indiana University until she was married and had her only son, Donovan Swick. She then moved to the great State of Tennessee and had lived there in the Knox, Sevier and Blount County areas until her passing. She radiated a true caregiver's spirit and graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in Knoxville, TN in order to pursue her passion of helping people as a Registered Nurse. She retired from being an RN after years of service to the become a Home Heath Care Nurse and ended her career as a Personal Care Giver to the aged and dying, including her own mother and father at the end of their lives. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and attended various local churches to worship Him.(Most recently Trinity Chapel in Knoxville) Diana loved sports and was an avid fan of the Tennessee Vols as she faithfully supported them, enjoyed spending time in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, enjoyed helping people, and loved animals as she had many different sorts of pets throughout her life; lastly her beloved dog Marley. She was preceded in passing by her father, Dr. Robert Lee Rubright (Doc) and her mother, Edwena K. Rubright (Miss Eddy) as well as her brother, David L. Rubright. Diana is survived by her only son, Donovan R. Swick and his wife Tara. She also has seven grandchildren through Donovan living: Caitlin, Alaina, Chloe, Simeon, Lavender, Symphony and Jude Swick. As well Diana has as a surviving brother, Don Rubright who lives with his wife Mitzi in California. There are two surviving nephews: Derek Rubright, (son of David) with his wife Jennifer and their daughter Reagan as well as Jonas Rubright (son of Don), with his wife Keri and their two daughters Tuesday and Gracie. There is also one surviving niece, Taylor (daughter of Don) who is married to her husband Josh Warren. The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home located at 220 W. Broadway in Maryville, TN with a Memorial Service immediately following at the same facility. As Diana was a long time resident of both Blount and Sevier Counties, we ask that any Memorial donations be made to assist the victims, families and pets of the recent Blount and Sevier County fires in her name.
