Diane Bell

Diane Bell, age 57 of Maryville, passed away at U. T. Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 25, 2004. Born in Leeds England, Diane came to Maryville in 1982 along with husband, John, son, Ryan and daughter, Katie. A member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, she was a devoted wife and mother. She was a volunteer at Blount Memorial Hospital and assisted special education students at Maryville High School before her illness. She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Smith of Doncaster England. Survivors include her husband, John Bell of Maryville; son, Ryan Bell of Chattanooga; daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Brian Fay of Charlotte, NC; mother, Muriel Smith; sister, Susan Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Christine and John Jeffels; nephew, Paul Jeffels and niece, Sarah Jeffels all of Doncaster, England. Through her valiant fight against Polycystic Kidney Disease, Diane inspired all those whose lives she touched. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on West Broadway, Maryville. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
