Doris Aileen Sharp Gamble

Doris Aileen Sharp Gamble, age 85 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Shannondale of Maryville. She received a full scholarship to Los Angeles School of Arts, where she graduated magna cum laude. After graduation, she worked as an Art Director at a major advertising agency in New York, NY. Later, she moved back to Knoxville where she worked at Davis-Newman-Payne, Inc. Mrs. Gamble was often recognized for her award winning ads and paintings and enjoyed her retirement years painting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion W. Gamble and parents, Taylor and Mossie Brooks Sharp. Survivors include her sister, Zola Jones of Alcoa; niece, Denise Jones of Huntsville, AL; nephews, William C. Jones of Decatur, AL and Kent Jones of Bostic, NC; great niece, Kendra Jones Sifuentes of Asheville, NC; great great niece, Lorelai Sifuentes; other nieces and nephews, Sara Norene Scarbrough, Roy Gamble, Bob Gamble all of Maryville; other great nieces and great nephews. Graveside services will be at 12:00 noon Saturday at Centennial Cemetery, on Centennial Church Road, with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating.
