Doris B. Starner

Doris B. Starner - age 81 of Maryville passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Clover Hill Senior Living. Doris was born September 29, 1934 to Walter and Elizabeth Bauder in Portersville, PA. She is a member of First United Methodist Church, Maryville where she was a Choir Member, Sunday School Teacher, Mission Trip participant, and many other church activities. Prior to moving to Maryville in 1979, she lived in PA, MD, TX, and NY. The moves have resulted in a string of enduring friends across the country. She enjoyed traveling and winter spent in Florida, where she developed a whole new "family" of friends. Most of all she loved her family with all her heart, and always put the interest of others first. An outstanding cook, she regularly prepared Thanksgiving and Christmas feasts for the clan, and entertained many people in her home. Doris Contributed to Habitat for Humanity, helping build and finish several homes, was an avid tennis player, she participated locally and in some state wide events. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Harry Bauder. Survivors include her husband, Bernard Starner; son, Jeffrey and wife Pamela; daughter, Lynn Davis and husband Danny; grandchildren, Curt and Dawn Davis, Brian and Beth Davis, Luree Starner and Lacy Starner; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Bauder and wife Sandy and family. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 23, from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, Maryville with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Catherine Nance and Rev. Parker Benson officiating. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Clover Hill senior Living for their love and care given to Doris.
