Doris Maunelle Morris Williams Quickel

Doris Maunelle Morris Williams Quickel passed away peacefully on the morning of October 27, 2015 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years William A. Quickel. Mrs. Quickel was a devoted wife and mother of five children. An active member of St. John's Lutheran Church for more than 50 years, she was choir soloist for 40+ years. Along with singing, Mrs. Quickel had many other creative outlets. She enjoyed writing and participating in plays, skits and poems. At home, she gardened and painted many beautiful watercolours. She is survived by her children: Michael W. Quickel, Teresa C. Knight (Walter), Joyce C. Sliger (Jack), George D. Quickel (Betsy) and David R. Quickel. She is also survived by three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Doris will be fondly remembered for her joy of living and the love of her children. The family will receive friends at St. John's Lutheran Church, 544 Broadway, Knoxville, TN on November 14, 2015 at ten o'clock. A memorial service will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to the cancer research foundation of your choice.
