Earvil Edgar Whitehead

Earvil Edgar Whitehead, 97, of Maryville, TN passed away on August 18, 2022. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Brown Whitehead; son, Philip Whitehead; parents, Etta, and Will Whitehead; sisters, Edith Henry, and Lexie Gilbert; brothers, Oscar, James (JM), Kennis, and Eldon Whitehead. He was born in Maryville, TN. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and served aboard the USS Monterey, attended Maryville College, and started work at Costner-Eagleton in 1949. He remained in the car business until his retirement from Twin City Buick as General Manager.

He is survived by his children, Lynn Whitehead (Hamby), Karen Rose (Tom), Michael Whitehead (Wendy), Alan Whitehead (Lori), and Janine Updyke (Jay); 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a brother, Marvin (Ruth) Whitehead.

The funeral with full military honors will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the Pavilion at Grandview Cemetery with a visitation to follow.
