Elizabeth Matthews Dunn

Elizabeth Matthews Dunn passed away May 11, 2013 at Blount Memorial Hospital due to pneumonia. She had lived the last 4 years at Sterling House Assisted Living. Elizabeth was born on August 13, 1921. She married Robert W. Dunn on November 1, 1941. They were married for 63 years before his death in 2004. She has been a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church since 1932. Elizabeth was a member of the Young Sunday School Class and Circle 1. She worked at Blount National Bank and for several years was Assistant Cashier. She also worked with the Girl Scouts, did volunteer work at the hospital, and was a Sunday school teacher who taught the five year old childrens class for several years. She was a dedicated wife and loving mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Dunn, and her parents James Bruce Matthews and Elsie Hall Matthews. Survivors include her daughter Ann D. Tallent and husband Ronnie Tallent, sisters-in-law Carol Dunn and Evelyn Dunn of Knoxville, several nieces and nephews and special friends Ann Peterson and Anne Hand. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Sterling House for their loving care. The funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at McCammon Ammons-Click Funeral Home with ministers Brenda and Larry Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M.
