Elwanda Turner Hickman

Elwanda Turner Hickman passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024, after an extended illness.

Elwanda was born August 12, 1940 in Blount County to Roy and Josie (Crisp) Turner. She married Carl Hickman on June 18, 1965.

A dedicated Registered Nurse, Elwanda graduated from UT Nursing School in 1961 and spent her life caring for others in Blount and McMinn Counties.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Charles “Bill” Turner, she leaves behind a legacy of love. She is survived by daughter Mary Ann (Dave) Klassen, sister Ann (Buddy) Allen, sisters-in-law Linda Hickman and Virginia (Howard) Robinson, and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Friday, January 12, at Fairview Church, 2508 Old Niles Ferry Road in Maryville, TN. Visitation is at 10:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Fairview Church Basic Needs Fund are welcomed.

Elwanda will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all who shared in her love and laughter.
