Garrett David Mcamis

Garrett David McAmis passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. He was 18 years old. Garrett grew up in Knoxville, had attended South Doyle High School, and was employed at Take 5 in Maryville, TN.

Garrett was very good with his hands and enjoyed working on things. He could fix almost anything. He loved video games, driving, music, and the family dog Lancelot. His siblings loved him, spending big chunks of time following him around. He enjoyed his work and was appreciated by customers. As a young child, Garrett was known for firmly and definitively sharing his faith in Christ.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather James McAmis. He is survived by his loving parents, Jeremy and Amy McAmis of Knoxville, TN, his sisters Lilly, Lexington, Kaitlyn, Zoe, and Sadie, and his brothers Zander and Will; his paternal grandmother Terrie McAmis, Maryville, TN; his maternal grandparents Terry and Ginger Rummel, Knoxville, TN; uncles and aunts Reeve (Kristi) Rummel, Knoxville, TN; Brandon Rummel, Knoxville, TN; Jennifer McAmis Justin (Tim), Maryville, TN; David Josiah McAmis; and several cousins.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sevier Heights North Campus, 3446 Lake Crossing Lane, Knoxville, TN 37920 with a Celebration of Life service following immediately at 7:00 pm. Pallbearers include Zander McAmis, Jacob McAmis, Reeve Rummel, Brandon Rummel, Ryan Vincent, Andrew Leonard, Josh Young, Jon Bryant and James Halter.
