Grace Blackburn Hargis

October 30, 1915 — May 7, 2006

Hargis, Grace Blackburn- age 90 of Friendsville died Sunday, May 7th at Asbury Place of Maryville. She was a member of Friendsville United Methodist Church. She loved family, quilting, cooking and was a Sunday School Teacher, Home Demonstration Club member and homemaker. She was preceded in death by husband Gordon Hargis, brothers Thomas, Hugh, Wert, Ernest, Ben, Roy, Arthur, John K.Blackburn; sisters Mable Fox and Anna McSpadden. Survivors include son Steve Hargis and wife Janie, granddaughter Wendi Clendenen and husband Gary; grandson Will Hargis and great grandson Cade Clendenen. Brother in law and sisters in law and several special nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her niece Betty Rueter and the nurses and caregivers at Asbury Place. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 9th at McCammon Ammons Click funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. with a memorial service following at 8:00 P.M.. The Reverend Darryll Rasnake will officiate. A private family burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Wednesday at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friendsville United Methodist Church: P.O.Box 176 Friendsville, TN 37737 or to Friendsville Volunteer Fire Department: P.O.Box #7 Friendsville, TN 37737.
