Hazel Deane Brown

December 18, 1916 — October 27, 2007

BROWN, Deane, age 90 of Maryville, passed away October 27, 2007, at Asbury Place Health Center. She was a former lab supervisor at Blount Memorial Hospital for many years. In 1969 she served as president of the state organization of the American Society of Medical Technologists. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church since 1938 where she was especially active in the choir and in the Bell Ringers group. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Patton Brown and Hazel Jones Brown and by her close friend, Nellwyn Lattimer. Survivors include Thomas Cecil Brown and wife Sheila and their children David and Andrew; cousin, Dudley Hale and his children, Dudley Hale, Jr., Roger Hale and LuAnne Peters; cousin (by marriage), Ruth Webb. The interment service will be Monday, November 5, at 1:00 p.m. in New Providence Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Steve Musick officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the music ministry at New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W.
