Helen Sitter Mode Staley, age 72 of Maryville, passed away May 19, 2019. She was a graduate of Everett High School - Class of 1966. She retired after 29 years of service with the Blount County School System. She was an avid supporter of Special Olympics. She worked at Dollywood for 17 years. Helen was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 40 years. She loved going to the Lady Vols basketball games for over 30 years. Preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Helen Mode; brothers, Tommy and Butch Mode; loving sister, Nancy Emerson. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Charles Staley; son, Richie Graves; daughter, Yvonne Graves (Justin) Gowan; step-daughters, Cathy (Jim) Harris, Brenda (Ivan) Pritchard, Sharon (Mike) Broyles. She was loved by her sisters, Perky Miliam and Donna Farr; along with brothers, Robert (Miriam) Mode and Johnny (Ann) Mode. She loved her grandchildren, Priscilla, Anndraia and Malachi Gowan, Chris Hunt, Brandy and James Harris, Adam and Josh Pritchard. She had numerous nieces and nephews along with great and great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 26, 2019 from 2-4:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home and the funeral to follow with Minister Stan Rushing officiating. The interment will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Alzheimers Association or the New Providence Presbyterian Activities Groups.
