James Ab Spencer

James Ab Spencer, 81, of Maryville, TN, died October 29, 2011 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Ab was born April 11, 1930 in Bessemer AL. He Graduated from the University of Alabama and retired from Alcoa after 38 years of service in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Connecticut. Ab served as a deacon and elder in the Presbyterian church and was a current member of New Providence. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Cooley Spencer; children, Diane and Bob Stein, James and Kathy Spencer, Ellen Spencer, David and Lea Spencer; grandchildren, Zachary and Margot Stein, Maggie Stein, James Spencer, Justin Spencer, Andrew Metzger, Jacob Metzger, Marie Spencer and Louise Spencer; great grandchildren, Cadance Spencer, Lillian Spencer and Benjamin Stein; brother, Floy Spencer; brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Louise Cooley; sister-in-law, Mary Cooley; nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at New Providence Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Doctor Emily Anderson, Reverend Steven Musick, and Reverend Doctor Stan Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or the American Parkinsons Association.
