James Carl Self

SELF, James Carl died at home in Maryville on Wednesday, October 3, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Dwayne Svette and grandsons, Vance & Sean Svette. A native of Greene County, TN, Mr. Self’s family came here in the 1600's from Wilshire, England. Mr. Self served in combat with the United States Navy for four years aboard the battleship Wisconsin. He subsequently owned and operated his own business in Greeneville, TN for over two decades. The family will receive friends at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, TN on Friday, October 5, from 5-9:00 p.m. Mr. Self will be buried with a Mass of Christian Burial from Our Lady of Fatima Church at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 6, 2001. Reception follows in The Fatima Center and he will then be interred at the home place. All friends, regardless of faith, are invited to the Mass and reception on Saturday, October 6th.
