James Daniel Oaks

James Daniel Oaks, age 65, of Friendsville, TN, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, after a lengthy illness, Thursday, February 3, 2022. He was born in Scottsburg, IN on February 12, 1956, the son of the late Elmer and Vernie (Smith) Oaks. James had a great love of animals, gardening and helping friends and family.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Billy Ray Oaks, David (Charlotte) Oaks; two sisters, Sharon Kay Oaks, Brenda S. (Richard) Campbell; Nephew, Corey S.Hettler.

James will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 11 years, Susan K. Oaks; two step children; five grandchildren; three sisters, Wilma Rock, Lorene (James) Hettler and Pearlie Oaks; four brothers, Larry (Paula) Oaks, Michael (Julie) Oaks, John Oaks and Mark (Lori) Oaks; numerous nieces and nephews.

James’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 3pm at Greenback Memorial Baptist Church, 292 Hwy 95 North, Greenback, TN 37742 and officiated by Pastor Lon Shockley.
