James R. Tippens

James Robert Tippens died July 5, 2003 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born March 1, 1934 in Knoxville, TN. He was the son of the late Mr. And Mrs. Willie Tippens. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Paul and Kenneth Tippins; sisters, Willetta Miller, Nevelyn Belcher, and Dorothy Shamblin. His Sunday School Class will serve as pallbearers. He is survived by sisters, Doris Eaves, and Katherine Shamblin; brother-in-law, Arnold Shamblin, and sister-in-law, Pat Tippins, several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as usher for many years. He was an avid bowler. The funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Davis and Mr. Raymond Belcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Clarks Grove Cemetery for the interment service.
