James Woody "Chuck" Mcclure

September 29, 1955 — October 31, 2016

James Woody (Chuck) McClure age 61, passed away on October 31, 2016 peacefully at home. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a graduate of the University of Tennessee with a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Education. James was retired from the Blount County School System and was previously employed at Porter and Prospect Elementary Schools as a Teaching Assistant. He also was a past employee at Proffitt's/Belk Department Stores for several years. He is preceded in death by his father and mother Paul W. McClure and Sylvia Lorene McClure. Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years Dorothy McClure; son Justin Paul McClure and wife Angela; daughter LeighAnna Brooke Everett and husband Matthew; grandchildren Aspen, McClure, Owen McClure and Silas James Everett; sisters, Sarah Sowders and husband Ted, Paula Wolfe and husband Fred Townson; many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to cousins Ray and Pat Vandaveer, Bobbie and Howard Miller, Paul and Pam Foster for help and assistance given during the past years. He has donated his body to the Anthropology Department at the University of Tennessee. Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Maryville, reception to follow. The service will be conducted by Rev. Ron Longmire. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1301 East Broadway, Maryville, TN 37804.
