Jimmy Rex Gredig

Jimmy Rex Gredig, 84, of Maryville, died September 11, 2016. He was born in Blount County, on May 30, 1932 to Ed and Minnie Higdon Gredig. He was a SSGT in the army where he served from 1952-1960, where he was honorably discharged. He retired in 2004 from Bruin Supply and Manufacturing working there 40 years as shop superintendent in custom cabinetry. His saying was "God made everything beautiful; it was our job to figure out how to use it". He had the love of outdoors, always gardening, working in the yard and loved camping. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Lynn McCulloch Gredig and daughter Lynda (Mickey) Rexine Gredig Lyda. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Connie Gredig, from Maryville. Rex's grandchildren are Danny Schrimsher, Dewayne Schrimsher, and Thomas Gredig of Maryville, and Daniel Lyda of Chattanooga. The family will have a private celebration of his life.
