Joseph John Dutkosky

April 5, 1925 — February 29, 2016

Joseph John Dutkosky, fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus passed to his heavenly home on February 29, 2016. Joseph was born in St. Michael, PA to Mary and John Dutkosky on April 5, 1925. Joe was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers. Joe celebrated his 90th birthday on Easter Sunday of 2015. Joseph was a veteran of World War II having served in the 163 Division of the U.S. Army Engineers. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for bridge building under direct enemy fire while standing in ice cold water almost losing his feet that had turned black. Joseph earned two Masters Degrees: one in School Counseling from Gannon University in Erie, PA; second in Jr. and Sr. High School Administration from Edinboro University in Edinboro, PA. He is survived by Dolores, his wife of 63 years and three sons: Robert (Brenda), Thomas (Sheryl), James (Anna) Dutkosky, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Joe served as Financial Secretary of Council 3832 of the Knights of Columbus for three years during which time he obtained the level of Fourth Degree of Assembly number 1083. Friends may offer condolences to the family Thursday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am before the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Entombment of Joe's cremains will follow Mass in the Columbarium behind Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church followed by recognition of the East TN Veteran's Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, attn: Tribute Program, P. O.
