Kenneth Alvin ''Big Al'' Keener, Jr.

November 24, 1954 — February 27, 2013

Kenneth Alvin (BIG AL) Keener, Jr. age 58 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013. He was an employee of Alcoa Aluminum Company with 38 years of service. He was preceded in death by parents Kenneth A. Keener, Sr. and Jo Ann Keener and step-mother Mae Ownby Keener. He is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Vickie and Curtis Suffridge and Kathy and Chuck Sexton. He was a loving husband to Susan Keener and a gassy dad to six amazing children and in-laws David and Tricia Meade, Chris and Alisha Keener, Tim and Chloe Keener, Kenny and Erika Keener, Phillip and Joanna Diaz, and Andre and Jennifer Phillips. He was a very proud Papaw to Austin, McKaleigh, Owen, Alexis, Jocilyn, Corbin, Kamryn, Kolby, Hayden, and Kambell. He was an avid Maryville Rebel football fan, often turning down overtime on Friday nights so that he would not miss a game. Row 16 at Shields Stadium will never be the sameGO REBELS! The first receiving of friends will be Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 5:00 7:00 p.m. at Second United Methodist Church, 1524 Western Ave., Knoxville, TN 37921 with service immediately following with Rev. Gary Baker officiating. A second receiving of friends will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, 220 West Broadway in downtown Maryville. On Saturday, March 2, 2013, we will gather at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home at 12:15 p.m. for a procession to Sherwood Memorial Cemetery on Alcoa Highway for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maryville High School Quarterback Club, 825 Lawrence Ave., Maryville, TN 37803.
