Lois Elberta Watkins

June 12, 1920 — May 7, 2010

Lois Elberta Watkins- passed away Friday, May 7, 2010 at Blount Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born to the late Will and Mary Willis on May 12, 1920 in Bryson City, North Carolina. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Watkins; son, Carl Watkins; daughter, Gearldean O’Neal, and great grandson, Timothy Watkins. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Edna Watkins, Robert and Margaret Watkins, and Roy Watkins all of Maryville; daughter-in-law, Jean Watkins of Lorraine, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Wade McDonald of Etowah. She had 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Delia Watkins and Ethel Willis of Bryson City, North Carolina. The family would like to thank the nurses at Blount Memorial Hospital, Hospice, and all her friends that have been there for her during her illness. Family and friends will meet 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery for a graveside service with the Rev. Richard Blackburn officiating. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
