Lorraine Adele Schmidt

Lorraine Adele Schmidt, born October 17, 1918, in Chelsea, SD, died September 6, 2013. She was a former resident of Colorado Springs, CO and had lived at MorningView Assisted Living for the past two years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Colorado Springs Art Guild, Pikes Peak Artists Association, Artists of Blount County and Arts and Crafts Guild of Blount County. She loved animals and was well known for her many paintings of dogs and landscapes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Schmidt; parents, Herman and Grace Schrandt; 3 brothers, Arthur, Leslie, and Peter; 2 sisters, Bernice Nikolas and Alice Buche. She is survived by sons, Donald E. Schmidt of Redmond, WA and Roger W. Schmidt of Friendsville, TN; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 5 nephews. A memorial service will be at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013, at MorningView Assisted Living, in the Sun Flower Room, with Dr. Jerry Russell officiating.
