Margaret Elizabeth Jennings Hitson

Margaret Elizabeth Jennings Hitson, age 95, of Maryville, died Sunday, June 12, 2016 at Asbury Place. She was born October 13, 1920 in Lone Mountain, TN to the late Ida (Pearson) and Edgar Jennings. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church for nearly 70 years and active in the Wesley Sunday School Class and the Keenagers. She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Hitson, Sr.; sons Philip Hitson, Raymond Hitson and David C. Hitson; and grandchildren Ricky Hitson, Donna Miller and Susan Boling. Survivors include daughter Eloise and son-in-law Robert "Bob" Landers of Maryville; son William "Bill" Hitson, Jr. and daughter-in-law Sylvia of Atlanta; daughters-in-law Norma Hitson and Brenda Millsaps of Maryville; grandchildren Wendy (Bill) Hall, Tim (Amy) Hitson, and Joyce (David) Spence of Maryville; Connie (Richard) Fritts and Vicki McMahan of Knoxville; Melinda Jordan of Brentwood; Brent (Tona) Hitson and Brad (Holly) Hitson of Birmingham; Kent (Elizabeth) Landers and Sherry (Doug) Taylor of Atlanta; and David (Jama) Landers of Seattle. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, in McCammon-Ammons Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mickey Rainwater officiating. Interment service will follow at Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family extends a special thank you to long-time friend Linda Hickman, Dr. John Ingram and to the staff at Asbury Place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Faithful Men Choir at 2508 Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, TN 37803.
