Margaret (Peggy) Taylor

Margaret (Peggy) Taylor, age 97, of Maryville passed away on August 1, 2022. Peggy was born on August 9, 1924 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by parents, Cy and Lillian Williams; husband of 60 years, Thomas Griffin Taylor, Jr.; daughter, Mary Jane Taylor; and brother, Patrick Williams. She is survived by daughter, Patsy (Brad) Lunde; granddaughters, Laura (Will) Ringo and Susan (Ben) Scruggs; four great grandchildren, Caroline and Mary Wilson Ringo and Clara and Thomas Scruggs; sister, Barbara (Courtland) Moore; and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy attended William Woods College in Fulton, Missouri. She moved to Oklahoma City and worked in the oil industry and real estate for many years. In 1995, she and Tom moved to Maryville to be closer to family.

Peggy had a spunky personality and a deep love of family. She was an avid genealogist and compiled a book on The Descendants of William Gober I.

The family will receive friends at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home on Sunday, September 4 from 1:00-1:30 with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Blount County Habitat for Humanity or the Blount County Public Library.
