Marshall Earl Hurst

February 22, 1937 — February 6, 2017

Marshall Earl Hurst, age 79 of Maryville, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017, at home. He was a Deacon at Sevier Heights Baptist Church and was retired from ALCOA after 35 years. He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Amy Nicole; parents, Bart L. and Gladys Ruth Stinnett Hurst; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George "Dutch" and Helen Sparks. Survivors include his wife, Sue Hurst; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Donna Hurst, Jeff and Rosemarie Hurst; grandchildren, Kayla and Marty Denny; Holly Hurst, Jackson Hurst, Cailyn Denny; brother, James Hurst; sisters, Margaret Raines and husband Delbert, Brenda Newman and husband Fred, Carolyn Hurst; sisters-in-law, Judy Carpenter and Pauline Garner; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Sevier Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie McNutt and Rev. Charles Murrell officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Autism Speaks or Sevier Heights Baptist Church Building Fund.
