Mary Elizabeth Curtis

Mary Elizabeth Curtis, age 98, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born October 30, 1917 to parents, James and Susan Benson. She married William "Bud" H. Curtis September 13, 1936 and they were married for 49 years. They had 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She had attended Thompson's Chapel Church of God, Foothills Church of God and now being RIO Church all since 1936. She was preceded in death by parents, James and Susan Benson; husband, William "Bud" H. Curtis; daughter, Susan Curtis; daughters-in-law, Carolyn Curtis and Carol Curtis; grandson-in-law, Tom Emert; 2 infant sisters, Ethel and Virgie; one infant brother, Carl Lee; brothers, Johnny, Shirl, Harvey and Frank; brother-in-law, James O'dell. She is survived by sons, Bill, Jim (Shirley), John, Frank (Carol); grandchildren, Leisa and Wendell Reeves, Bruce and Sandy Curtis, Gae Emert, Angie Haworth, Brian and Krista Curtis, Becky and Rick Payne and Mark Curtis; great grandchildren, Landon Reeves, Alyssa Emert, Katie Haworth, Emmery Curtis, Dalton Curtis, Ashlyn Curtis, Caylee Emert, Callie Curtis, Austin Haworth, Caroline Curtis, Braxton Curtis; sister, Hazel O'dell; nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Saturday at RIO Central Church, 370 S. Longhollow Road, Maryville, TN 37801, with Pastor Ronnie Hepperly and Rev. Allen Burchfield officiating. The interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-12:00 Saturday at the Church.
