Norma Dame Criss

July 15, 1921 — December 12, 2010

Norma Dame Criss, 89, died December 12, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Hubert O. Criss, a son Stephen Dale Criss, her brother Homer Dame, and parents Roy and Emma Dame. She was born and raised in Quincy, Kansas and in 1947 moved to Maryville, TN with her husband, Hubert, who was employed by the Aluminum Co. of America. She loved working with children and was retired from Maryville City Schools. She has been a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church since 1957 and served as a Deacon. She was also an honorary life member of the Presbyterian Women. Survivors include her children, Michael Criss and wife, Katharine, and Carole Criss Allen. Grandchildren include Carin Darden, Scott and Laura Criss and son Coleman and daughters Emily and Madison Rose, and John and Cindy Criss and sons Justin and Aidan. Graveside services will be Thursday, December 16 at Grandview Cemetery at 3:00. The Memorial Service will be at New Providence Presbyterian Church at 4:30. The family will visit with friends following the service in the new Westminister Hall until 6:30. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 West Broadway, Maryville, TN 37801.
