Ralph Henry Jenkins

September 6, 1929 — December 21, 2012

Ralph Henry Jenkins, age 83, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012, at his home in Alcoa, Tennessee with his family by his side. Ralph was born on September 6, 1929 in Mentor, Tennessee to Burton and Anna Jenkins. He served as Lieutenant Colonel in the 134th Tennessee Air National Guard from 1955 to 1985. He and Bobbie were active members of First United Methodist Church of Alcoa and the East Tennessee Air Stream Club. Ralph was a talented woodcrafter and made many beautiful and functional items for friends and family that will always be treasured. Ralph will be remembered as a devoted and kind husband, caring and nurturing father, loving and fun grandfather, and outstanding friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burton and Anna Jenkins; sister, Wilma McConnell. Ralph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bobbie Parris Jenkins; daughters, Cindy Jenkins, Patsy Brank and husband Neil; grandchildren, Bethany Simerly, Alice Brank and husband Michael Cloud, Emily Campbell and husband Richard, and Vera Brank; great-grandson, Myles Simerly-Hawkins; brother, T.M. Jenkins and wife Evelyn. He was close to all of his nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Green and Rev. Dwight Kilbourne officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. A private interment will be held at Grandview Cemetery. The family would like to thank all of his friends for bringing Ralph comfort. A special thanks to Blount Memorial Hospice Service for the excellent care.
