Raymond Cecil Hatcher

HATCHER, Raymond Cecil was born January 4, 1928, to the late John Clarence and Gladys Wilburn Hatcher. He went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2007, at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Hatcher and stepson, Robert Parrott. “One precious to our hearts has gone, the voice we loved is still. A place is left vacant in our hearts that can never be filled.” He was married to Cordia Robbins Hatcher and to this union four daughters were born: Athleen (Chip), Jone, Sandy, and Minnie. He always honored Cordia for being a good mother to his daughters. He was also married to Mary D. Annie Parrott. She was the love of his life. He leaves to cherish his memory wife, Mary D. “Annie” of Alcoa; daughters and sons-in-law, Athleen (Chip) and Bill Middleton of San Antonio, TX, Jone and Daniel Burnett, Sandy and David McNeilly and Minnie and David Craig all of Maryville, and “adopted son”, Jesse and wife Dean Anderson of Louisville; six grandchildren and spouses, Stephanie and Troy Allgood of San Antonio, TX, Heather and Jay Richards of Murfreesboro, TN, Jenny and Justin Alino of Blacksburg, VA, Dusty Young, Holly McNeilly, Raymond Craig and fiancee, Amber Cummings all of Maryville; three great grandchildren, Cori and Cian Richards of Murfreesboro, TN, Hannah Allgood and, due in 4 days, Todd Allgood of San Antonio, TX; sister, Shelby Jean Hatcher Clemmons; nieces, Debbie Branton and nephew-in-law, Tim Branton, Elaine and Tony Virag; great nephew, David Branton all of AL; aunt, Mildred Shinlever of Knoxville; special cousins, Burl Hatcher and Donna Sweet; special nephews-in-law, Kenny Bell of Louisville, and Max Boring of Maryville; special sisters-in-law, Shelby Boring, Estell Boring, Ruth Breeden, and the late Joy Bell; special brothers-in-law, Ray Parrott of Maryville, Ralph Cagle, and the late Burney Clemmon of AL. He loved his family and church family, and many devoted friends. He was a retired Building Contractor. He was a member of George Washington Masonic Lodge #181 in Louisville, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. He was an Alderman and on the Planning Commission for the town of Louisville. He was a Minister of the Church of God for over forty years. He was a dedicated worker in the church. He loved to read the Bible and teach Sunday School. His favorite Bible verse was Acts 20:28: “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which He hath purchased with His own blood.” A very special thanks to the Alcoa Fire Department for all the help they gave Cecil while he was ill. We could not have carried out his wish to remain at home had it not been for you. We will never forget the many times you came when we needed you. Also, a special thanks to J. D. Gentry and Toni Carovac for all your help during this difficult time. “Time cannot steal the treasures, that we carry in our hearts, nor ever dim the shining thoughts, our cherished past imparts.” His wife said, “He was my everything and I will love him forever.” Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Moody officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. The family requests friends to call at the funeral home only.
