Rebecca Ruth Hargis

Rebecca Ruth Hargis, 89, of Friendsville, passed away at her home on December 11, 2022.

Ruth was an educator in the Blount County School system for 32 years, teaching at both Porter and Friendsville schools. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Hargis.

She is also preceded by parents Leon and Lucille M. Sexton, brothers William and (Mary) Sexton, Donald and (Theresa) Sexton. Brothers and sisters-in-law; Gordon and (Grace) Hargis, Dora Belle and (Jim) Keeble, Florence and (Joe) Williams, Kenneth Calvin Hargis, and granddaughter, Gwendolyn Martin.

She is survived by daughters Bennie Hargis and Amber (Lee) Martin. Grandchildren; Ginger Martin Adams, Samantha (Matt) Andrews, and (Sergio Chapa). Great grandchildren; Brandon Chapa, Kenny Adams, Ande Adams and Sophia Andrews. Nieces and nephews; Andrew (Donna)
