Robert Edward Maxey

Robert Edward Maxey, age 86 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Maryville First Baptist Church, was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U. S. Army with a Tank Destroyer Outfit and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from the Blount County School System after 40 plus years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob A. and Belle Davis Maxey. Survivors include his wife, Jean Maxey; daughter, Debbie Maxey; sister, Katheryn Maner of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Jack and Ruby Maxey of Johnson City; brother-in-law, Paul Gregory of Maryville; sister-in-law, Mary Prater of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. John Sharp, Sr. officiating. Friends may call at the family home at their convenience.
