Robert Eugene Law

June 21, 1915 — April 26, 2012

Robert Eugene Law, 96, a native of Blount County passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a graduate of Maryville College, a veteran of world War II, serving as a Captain in the Army Medical Corp on a Hospital Ship. He was a Community and Church Leader, a long time member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon and Elder. He also served as Chairman of the Blount County Republican Party. He also was a teacher and afterward worked at Alcoa as a Chemical Engineer and became a member of the 25 year Alcoa Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Ratledge Law, his father John Abner Law, mother Mary Susannah Law, sisters Alice Campbell, Zula Lequire, brothers Harold Law, Shirley Law, and Lindell Law. Survived by brother-in-law, Earl R. Ratledge, sister-in-law, Lorraine Scott Ratledge, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews on both the Law Family and Ratledge sides of the family. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 PM with Rev. Steve Musick officiating. A private family graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to New Providence Presbyterian Church, 703 W. Broadway, Maryville, TN 37801.
