Roy V. Witzel

WITZEL, Roy V., age 80 of Alcoa, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2003, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was retired from ALCOA, was a member of the 25 Year Service Club and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lillian and Tom Witzel; sisters, Mae Young, Lois Sharp; brothers-in-law, James A. “Bud” Atchley, Daniel Clemens and Jess Young; nephew, Mike Clemens. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Edna Earle Nicely Witzel; one son, Thomas Clifton Witzel; sisters, Jean Clemens of Alcoa, Barbara Witzel of Stone Mountain, GA, Wanda Lynn Grake and husband Milton of West Palm Beach, FL; brother, Maynard Witzel and wife Pat of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Willie Ruth Atchley of Maryville; several nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Christine Patterson. Family and friends will meet at 12:00 noon Friday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a graveside and interment service with Dr. John Franklin officiating.
