Russell Clay Willocks

Clay Willocks, age 81, of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011. Clay was born in Maryville, Tennessee, on April 18, 1930, to Blanche Bailey and Thomas S. Willocks. In 1948 he married his high school sweetheart, Martha Singleton. After 42 years of marriage and five children, the family lost Martha to breast cancer in 1990. Following a career with Harrison Construction, Clay and Martha started Greeenback Rock Quarry. After selling the business at age 55, Clay was able to pursue his many hobbies including building and flying a small airplane, motorcycling and boating. In his later years, he took up bicycling with a passion. Many who didn’t know him personally, recognized him from his daily bike rides. Clay later met and married Lorena Calloway Looney of Blaine, Tennessee. Lorena joined him at Hopewell Baptist Church where he was a lifetime member and served as Deacon until his death. Preceded in death by first wife, Martha Singleton Willocks, daughter, Pam Howard and brother Ray Willocks. Survived by wife, Lorena Willocks; daughters, Donna Faulkner and husband, Tom, Tanya Copeland and husband, Buz; son, Rusty Willocks and wife, Teresa; daughter, K.C. Jackson and husband Ricky; granddaughter, Amy French Habart and husband, Adam; grandsons, Brett and Austin Jackson; granddaughter, Grace Khalsa Willocks; great-granddaughters, Lilly and Olivia Habart; brothers, Calvin Willocks and Clem Willocks. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons- Click Funeral Home. Memorial service and interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Hopewell Baptist Church with Pastor Charles Huskey and Rev. George Macht officiating.
