Sarah Maxie Everett Blevens

September 20, 1914 — February 23, 2013

Sarah Maxie Everett Blevens - age 98 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was educated at East Tennessee Teachers College in Johnson City and was a physical education teacher at Everett High School until her retirement in 1976. She attended Fairview United Methodist Church since 1942. She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Nellie Williams Everett, husband of 63 years, Sam Henry Blevens, infant son Sam Henry Blevens , Jr. brothers: Earl, Ernest, Raymond, and twin brother Max Everett, sisters: Frances Everett and Erma Everett Pesterfield. Survivors include sons Mike Blevens of Maryville and Dan (Anne) Blevens of Walland. Grandchildren Kim (Ross) Eriksson of Birmingham, AL, Dr. Kara (Kevin) Huncik of Charleston, SC, Katie (Shane) Belcher of Maryville, and Sarah Blevens of Maryville. Great- grandchildren Leo and Cole Eriksson; one sister-in-law, Myrtle Everett. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Dr. Jerry Russell and Rev. Greg Long officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1:30-3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Gratitude and appreciation to the caregivers who helped at home (June, Millie, Kristy, Kristi, and Irene) and nurses, doctors and staff at Blount Memorial Pallative Care.
