Vernell Wayman Fritts

Vernell Wayman Fritts, age 96 , formerly of Friendsville, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 in Charleston, South Carolina. Mrs. Fritts is preceded in death by her husband Clifford. She is survived by her daughter, Ruthie Fritts of Seabrook Island, SC; son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Lynn Fritts of Louisville, TN; granddaughter Hannah Fritts Scott and husband Nick of Louisville, TN along with special family friend Sandra Cook of Seabrook Island, SC. Mrs. Fritts was a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University who, after a brief teaching career, operated a beauty salon in Tellico Plains, TN for many years before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was a lifetime member of First Methodist Church of Tellico Plains. She was an avid Vols and Lady Vols fan who enjoyed preparing home-cooked meals for family and friends. The family will receive friends from 9-11:00 a.m. Monday at Center Presbyterian Church in Tellico Plains, with a graveside service to follow at the Church Cemetery. Rev. Bill Clark will officiate.
