William Jackson ''Jack'' Carter, Jr.

Carter Jr., William Jackson “Jack”, age 87 of Maryville passed away Sunday March 9th 2008 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, retired from ALCOA with 41 years of service, 32nd degree mason, and a life member of The Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elfreda Cunningham Carter, son, John Frederick Carter, grandson, William Jackson Carter IV, brothers, Rufus Carter, Gilbert Carter, and Harry Carter. He is survived by his son, William “Bill” Jackson Carter III of Townsend, daughters, Donna Carter Gilliam of Alcoa, and Glenda Rose Carter of Maryville. 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and many special friends. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. The family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Westview Cemetery in Sweetwater for the interment.
