Aleene Gamble Thomas

THOMAS, Aleene Gamble, age 88 of Walland, passed away Friday, June 17, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Walland United Methodist Church and was the last Gamble of her generation. She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Thomas, Sr.; son, Jack Wilson Thomas; parents, James T. and Fannie Walker Gamble; brothers, Leonard, Howard and Elmer Gamble; sisters, Mary Elma Gamble, Blanche Davis and a set of twins. Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Lester Burnett of Maryville; daughter, Lisa Orr of Maryville; adopted daughter, Paris Cogdill of Walland; sons and daughters-in-law, James H. Jr. and Charlotte Thomas of Knoxville, Joseph and Brenda Thomas of Maryville, William (Billy) and Beth Thomas of Maryville; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Collier officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Pleasant Grove Cemetery for the interment service.
