Ann Anderson Tappen, 87, passed away Monday, May 19, 2025, in Knoxville after courageously battling illness.
Born March 10, 1938, in Raleigh, NC, Ann graduated from Maryville College and made East Tennessee home. She was a devoted mother to Melissa Boykin, Bob Seaton, Jim Seaton, and John Seaton with her first husband Dr Robert W Seaton, and loving wife of 22 years to Henry Tappen.
Ann quietly touched lives as a Blount County special needs teacher and portrait artist, finding inspiration in Tennessee's mountain landscapes. Her love knew no bounds - cherished by lifelong friends across continents, nieces throughout the Southeast, and countless others who felt her generous spirit. She believed in loving fully and making everyone feel welcome and heard.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life.
