Barbara Bowers
December 14, 1944 — June 29, 2019
Barbara Bowers, age 74 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Life Care of Blount County after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felin and Hattie Harness; brothers, R.D., J.T. and Paul Harness; sisters, Nora Mitchell and Shirley Summers. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth L. Bowers; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Bob Wake of Germantown, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Khadija Bowers of Knoxville; beloved grandchildren, Ismail Bowers, Zaynab Bowers, Ahmed Bowers and Fatima Bowers; sister-in-law, Carolyn Green (Randy); several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 PM Monday, July 1, 2019, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet 11:00 AM Tuesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a graveside service with the Pastor Chad Morrison officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
