Beulah Mae Hatcher Cate, age 83, of Maryville passed away on May 16, 2024, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of St. Mark Global Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Cate; parents, Roy and Mae Hatcher; brother, Burl Hatcher; brother-in-law, Sonny Young; nephew, Randall Hatcher.
Her family called her Aunt B.B. She did not have biological children, but she had many children of the heart. B.B. and Dean played a big part in the development of West Knoxville through their real estate development business. She loved big and was loved big in return. She will be greatly missed. Heaven is her new home.
She is survived by her loving sister and best friend, Trula Young; brother and special sister-in-law, A.J. and Shirley Hatcher; nephews, Mark (Bridget) Young, Jeff (Fay) Hatcher, Tim (Donna) Hatcher, David (Tracy) Hatcher, Andy (Tiffany) Hatcher; niece, Missy Rhea; special great nieces and nephews, Livia, Luke, April, Travis, Valerie, Cory, Neil, Brandon, Richard, Jason, Brian, Katie, Steve, Angela, Justin, Launa, Wyatt, and Jeremy; step-children, Canby (George) Marini, David Cate, Marshall Cate; special cousin, Rebecca Millsaps.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday, May 21st, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the service to follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Bill White officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 22nd, at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Sutherland Ave. for the interment.
