Bill D. Simerly, age 78 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Friendsville, a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1956 and retired from ALCOA with 32 years of service. Mr. Simerly enjoyed traveling in an RV and growing tomatoes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Mary Simerly and brother, Richard Simerly. He is survived by his wife, Irene Simerly; children, Kenny (Terri) Simerly, Randy Simerly and Lorrie Weltner; grandchildren, Scott Simerly, Derrick Barrow, Nathan Barrow, Reagan Weltner and Madison Weltner; great grandchild, Ava; brother, Johnny (Linda) Simerly; uncle and aunt, Kenneth Baldwin and Betty Baldwin; several nephews and a niece. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mark Grubb and David Hipps officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
